Introducing Jennifer Alf – Social Worker MSW
Advanced Practice Social Worker
Jennifer has personal connections to Adoption within her immediate family as well as Embryo Adoption within extended family. She has a profound appreciation for the journey taken to create/expand a family.
Jennifer started her career conducting home studies for open domestic infant adoptions. She also helped create families through international adoptions as well as Stepparent Adoptions.
Jennifer is currently working as a Behavioral Health Collaborative Care Manager, providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Activation Therapy, safety assessments and planning.
We are pleased to be able to have Jennifer join our Social Worker team to assist our adopting families with their Home Studies.
In Memory of Dr. James Dobson 1936 - 2025
Dr. James Dobson – His Embryo Adoption Legacy
When I heard the news of his passing this week I was reminded over the next few days just how much of an impact he has had on the lives of millions of people world wide. As a Christian Psychologist his wisdom and guidance shaped the minds countless over 50 years of his ministry.
His impact is very personal to me,and my family. It was about the year 2001 when we heard a radio interview Dr. Dobson did about embryo adoption. He interviewed a lady by the name of Marlene Strege who was the first mom to give birth to an adopted embryo. She and her husband shared thier story and joy of the birth of their daughter, Hannah.

After years of infertility, we heard hope for our future, maybe. We contacted Dr. Dobson’s Focus On the Family organization and learned how we could adopt embryos. We did just that! Our daughter Elisha was born in 2003. Oh what a day that was! It changed life forever.
5 years later with the help of Pastor Joe Fuiten of Cedar Park Church, Embryo Adoption Services of Cedar Park was birthed on November 8, 2008. 250 babies have been the results of our efforts so far.
All this to say, it it were not for this one interview with Marlne and Dr. Dobson all of this would never have happened. We would have not had Elisha, Embryo Adoption Services of Cedar Park would not exist, and 250 families would not have the children they now cherish. The endless resulting generations yet to be born, included in this list.
We were able to meet Dr. Dobson with Elisha in person when she was 5 years old while visiting Focus On the Family for an event there. I will never forget that day being able to meet the man that had brought us so much joy. Thanking him is person was a goal, and dream come true.
Dr. Dobson’s impact will go on for generations unlimited. Today we are sad to see him leave us, we pray for his wife Shirley and their adult children for their trmendous loss and grief. We also know he is now hearing, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Thank you, Dr. Dobson. We will keep your vision in our hearts always.
