October Babies!

Welcome to the world Caledonia Beatrice!

Caledonia Beatrice newborn

Greetings!

Miss Callie is a special girl! Her new parents were able to find, and be matched with embryos in Barbados. They flew there, had the embryos transferred and they returned home, to await the news from their local doctor if the pregnancy test was positive. The pictures tell the rest of the story!

After 6 years of infertility, our miracle has arrived. It’s been a long journey full of ups and downs but on Monday, October 23rd, Caledonia Beatrice arrived weighing 9 lbs 6 oz and was 21” long! Being matched with a donor family whose embryos were in Barbados made for a sunny and beach side embryo transfer in January that was a great success and a beautiful vacation all at once. Callie and mom are both doing excellently and we are so excited to see her grow up to be an incredible bringer of joy as her name declares. We are so thankful to God for our miracle.

Hello Mateo!

Mateo

Mateo with parentsBORN: October 10, 2017
WEIGHT: 5 lbs 15 oz
LENGTH: 19 Inches

We are very excited about the birth of this little boy. Mike and Lei have been very dedicated, and devoted to their embryo adoption journey. It did not work right away for them, which can happen. They did not give up, but persevered over a respectable period of time. They keep going, and keep believing, their faith sustained them, and now their miracle boy is here. Congratulations Lei and Mike! Your story will touch a lot of people, and encourage them to persevere.

Introducing Rosamund Hope!

Rosamund Hope newborn

Sutton

I met with Ben and Hannah near Chicago for lunch the summer of 2016. My daughter and I were going to a family reunion, and we met with as many families as we could on our travels east. We had a lovely lunch together. I never forget meeting families at the early stages of hope and anxiety, about outcome. I have been “there”, and it is a mix of awesome and fear of the unknown at the same time. I was very impressed with Hannah and Ben. They were optimistic, hopeful, and best of all, prayerful. It changes everything. With prayer, even if our hopes are not met, we can still keep going on, knowing that there is still the best plan ahead. That is just how God works. We are thrilled by the birth of Rosie and for all the joy she will bring to Ben and Hannah for the rest of their lives.

Pregnancy Loss Month

The road of infertility can be long, and very difficult. My own daughter Elisha was adopted as an embryo in 2003. I was 46 at the time. Prior to that my husband Jeff and I experienced several miscarriages. These losses affect us in profound ways. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and we want to let you know we are thinking of those suffering with the pain these losses can bring to our hearts and souls. We found several wonderful resources for you, that you can check out when you have time. Please know that we are thinking of you, especially, this month.
